Church Renewal

Church Renewal is the first step in our strategy to fulfill our mission to see every church healthy and multiplying. Currently we focus on two specific aspects: Leadership Development & Encouragement and assisting churches in a renewal process.

Leadership Development and Encouragement:

Leadership encouragement is largely through our weekly pastors fellowship each Tuesday at 11:00am at the Association office. In addition, we have begun hosting a bivocational pastors and wives fellowship lunch at a local restaurant in the Spring and Fall.

We believe in developing leaders of all types and offer various training opportunities as specific needs are brought to light. Currently, this includes assisting churches in creating Disciple-making systems through an initial half day workshop followed up with ongoing coaching. We have ongoing cohorts for the Bible Training Center for Pastors and Leaders groups (https://www.bibletraining.com/) that anyone is welcome to join; this training focuses primarily on theological preparation of pastors and teachers. We also encourage pastors to begin pastor equipping cohorts utilizing Practically Trained Pastors by Brian Croft, founder of Practical Shepherding (https://practicalshepherding.com/), which focuses on the pastoral ministry side of pastoring.

Furthermore, we believe God is raising up leaders for the church and wish to be a resource for these leaders as they seek to become more fully equipped to serve the churches. For this reason, we offer financial assistance to those attending seminary, either as an undergraduate student who has completed at least 60 credit hours or as a student pursuing a masters level degree. The following attachment explains our policy for this assistance in more detail:

Renewed and Always Renewing:

We partner with the the Missouri Baptist Convention Resound Network which serves the local church in the renewal process. As a partner of the Resound Network, we lead the Southeast Zone of Missouri in this effort. If you have a question about how we can come alongside your church to assist you through a renewal process, please do not hesitate to give us a call. If you are interested in becoming a member of our Zone team or simply wish to become better equipped in this area as a church leader, please visit the following page on our site:
